His articles have appeared in the New York Times, the Oakland Tribune, Neurology Now, and elsewhere; he also is a member of PEN, which works to advance literature, defend free expression, and to foster international literary fellowship. He has an adult daughter, Raena, and has lived in Maine, Ohio, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Westchester, where he currently resides with his wife Maureen. He has always had a home in Brooklyn.
